Hi all,

Been lurking for a few months, got to see a locost in action at the local autocross, and was duly impressed!

I've owned a few sports cars in my relatively short driving career; '86 MR2, '99 M3, '03 S2000, '08 Z4M Coupe, and most recently an '09 Z4 3.0. Of those, I would imagine the S2000 would probably be the closest to what the locost experience would be. I can't wait to experience the feeling of similar power and balance in a vehicle that weighs 1100 lbs!!

I'm looking forward to getting to know the members here, and bask in the glory that is the collective knowledge of this forum. :)

Yours,

Graham

Welcome Graham. What are you planning for a build?

Mind filling in your location?

Thanks Andrew!

Location updated. :)

Not sure if I have the stones to build something from scratch at this point in my life... However if I were to start a project tomorrow, I would be doing a traditional layout, but would be torn between a BEC utilizing a CBR1000RR, or an F20C (S2000) engine.

As it stands though, with no real place or tools to begin such a project, I would most likely be looking to save for a year or two and give a well-done completed project (read: someone's baby) a good home. :D

EDIT: By the way, very nice vids and build Andrew! 8)

Having both an S2000 and several Locosts over the years I can tell you the S2000, while being an absolutely fabulous car, is more akin to driving a Mack truck when comparing it to the Locost.

Graham,

Welcome. We have a few builds going on here in the Valley of the Sun. One in Laveen and one in Chandler. I'm in Cave Creek and am working on someone else's starter. You've sure owned quite a few nice cars.

Tom

Hi Tom!

Nice to hear of some local builds. I saw the one on the local craigslist and I would absolutely JUMP on it if I had the garage.......the tools.... oh yeah and the skills to complete it. lol

Thanks, I've sacrificed my personal and financial comfort to own some of those, and it was worth it haha.

There's no shame in just buying one and driving it. Save your shekels and keep an eye on the for-sale section!

Just found this pic of my S2000 so since he mentioned S2000s I thought I'd share.

Those are 18" Kinesis rims.

Bought it new in 2002. I still have it and nothing I've seen come on the market has tempted me to get rid of it.

Fantastic! I love Spa yellow! Mine was Silverstone with Bronze wheels, let me see if I can find a picture of it somewhere...

Hi Wayne!

Sounds good, I may have to take you up on that, it would be cool to see a build in person! :)

I'm afraid I wouldn't have a place for the frame even though I want it! lol
