Hey look it's my car again.
My nationals codriver, his driving style, and my car didn't get along. He spent the whole event overdriving it until his last run where he slowed down and Left foot braked like I told him and went faster. The video is hilarious but it makes the car look really hard to drove which it is not. Oh well all press is good press right?

I looked at the video. I really don't understand "cone code." Sometimes they have one cone lying down, pointing to the right (or left), and sometimes they have 2, or 3, or 4. WTF? By the time I got my driving gloves off to count 'em out on my fingers, I'd be eating those cones coming right over the windshield, just like you did. I think I better stick to shuffle board. It's cheaper too.

Cheers,

I don't see why it's funny at all. I would not let an idiot that drives like that touch my Crescent wrench. let alone a car.

In other news, it's idiotic drivers like that that have given us the undriveable 2.x turns lock to lock street cars. If as driver one is unable to make make micro corrections- which require a much slower ratio- you depend on electronic nanny's in emergencies and inclement weather.

Add super-variable ratio to that, and you have a recipe for disaster. Most drivers seem to handle it okay until they're in an emergency, then they overcorrect. Given modern sticky tires, narrow tracks, and high-CG SUVs or sedans, the rollover is practically inevitable.

I prefer a non-variable ratio steering system that actually has a steering wheel that turns, as opposed to the videogame "force sensor" so many cars come with these days.

No, it doesn't matter how fast you gear up the steering, it's not going to turn a 4000 pound road hog into a Lotus 7... so a lot of them go to hydraulic or electronic self-centering to try to keep the car going more or less in a straight line, which is really wonderful when you're driving on a high-crowned secondary road or across the Texas Panhandle, where trees grow with a southward lean due to the crosswind.
