Hi Guys,

I am building a new engine for my road race sidecar and have been trying to find a sump baffle plate. I see you guys use them in some of your builds.

can anybody put me onto somewhere I can buy one, preferably online as I am in New Zealand.

cheers

I found mine on Ebay UK, but I don't see the listing anymore. There should be a picture of it early in my build log. Another option would be to weld a couple of vertical baffles right into the pan. I welded an oil temperature sensor bung into my oil pan, and it was no problem welding it.
Even with the baffle, I have seen the low oil level warning light come on a couple of times, but a quick cross check showed no loss of oil pressure. I believe that the oil can move away from the float, yet it still is being picked up. I have an external oil cooler and run 5L of oil, right to the top of the sight glass. But I'm also not pulling the lateral G's that you are. Have you looked into the Accusump? They are readily available online.

Maybe This will help. And then again, maybe this isn't what you are looking for. In 1 minute, I found this. Might be worth dropping a line.

Yes that is exactly what I am after, but I contacted them 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back.

Ive got them. They're CNC laser cut, and fit 04-08 R1's. I originally made them for SR1 offroad race cars. Email me FactionRacing@gmail.com.

Cheers. Steve.
