Have the chance to grab a '89 GSXR 600 for CHEAP.
Not sure if '89 can actually be a GSXR?
I was originally looking for a FJR1300, but this is almost free.

Looks like torque might be a bit weak at 38.7 lb⋅ft (52.5 N⋅m) @ 9,250 rpm.
80 hp (60 kW) @ 12,000 rpm.
So it will rip through the RPM and sound wicked, but how light would my car have to be for it to remain fun around town?
Pretty certain 80 HP and 12K RPM is plenty once it's rolling!
Thinking of using it for my Tatum build which originally did fine with a 40 horse VW engine.
Should be able to make it pretty light.

The A Mod is powered by a CBR600 and weighs around 800 lbs.

It's plenty terrifying. I have it gear limited to 119 mph at 12000 rpm in top gear.

If I can get to this before someone else snatches it the car will have to break new ground for light-weight.
Body can easily be well under 100 Lb.
Chassis, very light tube structure, or plywood monocoque?
I'm leaning toward the splinter special since I sold my Marcos.
I have Spitfire/GT6 suspension laying around and that's pretty light.
Getting the chain to a diff with REAR engine may be a challenge.
Also have to see about the oil system, not sure if this is dry-sump or not.
Has to be a future build as I'm determined to finish the Alfa --Dio this year.
But 12,000 RPM and a six speed should be a hoot!
Fitting a bigger engine later should be comparatively simple.

I checked with the seller, he says it is dry-sump. :)

Got it home.
Thinking first step after getting it off the truck is to make it run.
Been sitting a while so hoping that will not be too hard.
61,500 Miles, so hopefully not wore out.
Now I wonder if/how much larger case sizes are for the 750 - 1100 engines?
Thinking build with this and keep an eye out for a 750 - 1100 engine later.
