so for years now i have been having to buy 2 or 3 new starters a year for my D-sports car with a gsx-r 1000 motor after i spin the car out .
i would keep an extra one on hand just for that reason . so i bought the Hawk starter saver and installed it the other day . it's a simple little thing that just pulls the starter out a little so it does not engage all the time . i hooked it up to a push pull cable so i do not have to get in and out of the car to engage and disengage it all the time .
they are also a good idea if you installed a reverse to your car with a gsxr motor . the starters just don't like to get spin in reverse at any speed .
