Freecycle ought to net you a free bowling balls and old rotors are thrown away every day.

Now if only the bowling ball were metal so you could just ground the table leg and not have to worry with grounding the top plate.

Now that is neat! If I were a welder, I'd build one of them. I don't do enough welding to justify one.

I'm not sure how he got the jack release to work with a pedal. Mine has to be unscrewed to release. Any ideas?

That got my attention too. His pedal turns the screw a little if you watch closely.

That is pretty cool!

Some 20+ years ago I was doing some production welding of fillet brazed tandem bicycles. If you've ever done bronze welding like that you know you have to move the work piece around a lot to get a nice fillet (that whole gravity thing). And if you've ever looked at a tandem bicycle frame, there are a LOT of joints. The whole affair was kind of like dancing with an octopus. We came up with a gimbal mounted clamp that allowed us to maneuver the frame in 3 axis simultaneously. I still have one the fixtures and should post a picture of it. It's not that applicable for automotive parts but it sure was the bees knees for finish welding bicycle frames!

The construction video linked at the end shows its a rocker release. There is a close up, and he states it's a jack off a Canadian Tire motorcycle lift.

I didn't see that construction video before. So you start with a 100 dollar ATV/Motorcycle Lift, strip it for parts and ............

That is something I really should build. Maybe after I build my dream shop and have lots of room.
