Just ran across them and cannot see that anyone has commented. Anyone familiar with these?

At $65/lb they are not exactly Locost, but could be very cost effective.

Sounds like a high silver content solder. I do not doubt that it works, just the play on words of solder versus braze versus bronze welding, etc.

These rods are good on things like Mazak or running into a cracked casting in situ as a repair . If its Ali tig welding is the way to go.

....if you have a tig welder, which I don't. I watched their promo video and this stuff looks unbelievable. The butt joint was particularly impressive. I also like the stripped thread replacement method....I'll confess that I am a chronic over-torquer and over the years I've stripped out my share of threaded aluminum holes. I don't have an immediate use for it but I'd like to have a pound of their rod sitting in my shop waiting for a chance to use it.

I am not knocking the product, I have used it to repair cracked motorcycle cases and pitted door handle casting`s prior to re-chroming. Defintly worth keeping a few sticks on the shelf but it wont ever be a replacement for tig welding. Its more of a get you out of jail card.
