Got a Pexto with one set of beading dies. Cool old thing but I have never worked extensively with one. What do y'all know about 'em?

Got mine from Eastwood. I have used it among other things to roll bead on the flooring of my two builds. It works alrigth. Keeping straight lines and turning the crank is a bit of a challenge. If I was involved in serious work I would want to bolt an electric motor and gear to the thing.

Replace the crank with a large round wheel (old steering wheel works well). It makes it a lot easier to be smooth. Covell makes some "round over dies" which are pretty good. I bought 2 pairs, 5/16 and 3/4 IIRC. Tipping dies are also really good for finishing panels. Hoosier Profiles makes a really nice set - 1st class to deal with too.

I had an Harbor Freight, worked well. Tough to use single handed, you really need to have a second person to turn the wheel while you drive. A power version would be great. Make sure you put the bead on the right side, I used it on a cover for my ECU against the firewall. Really made the panel less flimsy. But I put the bead on the wrong side so the panel does not lay flat.. Oops.
