I received an e-mail from Amazon.com today pushing a very low cost English wheel from Grizzly Tools. I actually bought the same piece from Harbor Freight a couple of years ago. They are selling at $165.65 USD plus FREE shipping to the 50 States. I don't know why Canada was left out with NAFTA and all that stuff, but maybe Canadians can get a deal on shipping too if you call and get pushy (maybe it's a Customs issue?).

Anyway, the included anvils are actually done very well and would cost several hundred dollars (like $400-$500) if you bought them here. It is a light duty machine and more suitable as a learning tool, or to do smaller jobs, but if you want to try your hand at metal shaping it's about as inexpensive a tool as you'll find that can do something useful.

Here's a picture and a link to Amazon:

It does flex as supplied when wheeling heavier gauge materials. I elected to reinforce mine and put it on a stand rather than use it in a vise. The extra metal to strengthen the frame was pretty cheap and I got the metal for the stand from a steel salvage yard, but you don't have to do those things to use it. It was just my choice.
