I like the way he hinged the body. Look beneath the body and what do you find? Something that looks a lot like a Middie 7

I understand why he did it this way, but I can't see any of us hanging the engine off the back like a porsche.

So wait, he used a perfectly good mid engined gearbox, built an entirely new frame with a hunk of an engine and still went rear engine? :ack:

All you'd have to do is think it and it would happen.

Probably comes out of power over a lot more smoothly than my old MR2...

As light as that would wind up, the offset gap on the rubber, and a well thought out suspension... I'd imagine it would surprise more than a few people.

Granted, not everything is a ~1500lb 50/50 weight tubeframe race car with a license plate. ;)

I'll admit I'm jealous... So much access for easy wrench turning. :D

It can be hard to steer with the front wheels in the air.

:D Hard to steer with a scared passenger grabbing the wheel, as well...

That turbo B20 might be able to lift occasionally if it's anti-lag launched and dead sticks...

(If it's a 400-600whp build, expect 250-350wtq way up in the stratosphere.... Credit due, the Honda guys are finally figuring out how to make torque with low cost internals supervised by excellent management)

Wheel stands aren't something I think I'd try for with a car I had that much time in. :D (unless it's just clearing the suspension, or I had a few spare oil pans, pumps, and anything else that hung below the frame.... lol)

I'm honestly picturing that as "finished" with ~400whp as a fun, and a better than half reliable toy. It'd certainly have the balls. The Porsche transaxle just means it can lay down more torque reliably than usual.

I personally don't think I like beetles.... But examples like this, and the cherry baja style metallic blue one for sale just up the road keep irritating me.
