Had no idea you were building AWD? Or are you just dreaming of next build? I do hope you do come up with Subaru AWD maybe mid engine. I only think pull rod suspention is worth it when nothing else will do. To many parts to rattle

Mostly thinking for now. 8)

Keep looking at the parts and would like to find a way to use them.
Now just need to come up with a way to mount a coil over of to the side?

Would be fun to have a AWD Manx/style car?

What is the Max. wheel base for the Manx body? Think it was 14" less than the Bug?

Thanks,Randy

Na, the coilover would need to move with the steering. What was I thinking. Not! :ack:

Dam struts. :BH:

Looks like I'm back to a pull rod.

Yes Manx 80" but the 4 seater body is 94 and the wheel well are very generous. Mine wheel base is 83" 2" longer in rear and 1" in front. Its just for fun and a simple build so I can complete something. I really need to get back to my other builds.
My biggest problem is I am not home much and like most of us always building in my head and the fun is in the hunt. I loose momentum and focus when not at home.

BUILD? We don't need no stinking "BUILD".

Long story,I got a RC/Desert Racer for the Granddaughter. Was looking at and the front end and it looked like the Subaru stuff. Got me thinking ! If you ask the Wife, that is a bad thing? :ack:

Then you posted the Buggy build, and more ideas!

Randy

Nice buggy. Are you going to fit the side panels or leave it open? How did you pin the drive extension to the shift rod at the transaxle? I've considered using those as swivels but assumed the hardened steel would be a pain to drill.

Here are a couple pics of my favorite buggies.

Great pictures
The shifter universal was a 1/2 drive Craftsman it machined more like chrome molly. The rear one was better it used split pins for joints the front one is new and not made as nice. Welded with SS rod. Time will tell how well it holds up.
