Finally after roughly 3 years of work and numerous changes and redesigns of this and that and adding a lot of stuff that should not normally be found on a 7, like AC, tilt, cruise, power steering, t top, LS7, etc., I got to drive the 2nd Stalker for the first time. There was no floor in the car so I could stop it with my feet :D and one of the oxygen sensors was not screwed in all the way in causing a minor exhaust leak ( popping sound) but it did run. It left two black marks on my drive way.......Jeez i hate when it does that.

Good thing you said it was you! Otherwise I'd think that Santa had a brand new sleigh (sung, of course, to the James Brown's "Pappa has a brand new bag").

Congrats! And we're happy for you, and secretly, envious as @#$@#

Not me. I'm publicly envious, right here in front of everybody! Oh well, at least my tires will last a long time, now that I've overcome that black marking problem.

THANKS GUYS
I am most suprised at the homade muffler. It actually sounds good and the sound level is very tolerable (90DB or less), considering it is pretty much straight thru.
My welding sucks so i tried using a Mig with silicone bronze wire as a filler on both sides of the welds on the exhaust to make the grinding easier. It worked but still took hours to get done. The exhaust is being coated today and I hope that will improve the look of it.

Gale,

Congratulations! You probably don't remember our phone conversation of two or so years ago, but your LS7 build is one that inspired my soon-to-begin LS build. I've been following your progress ever since we talked. Delighted that you are now on the road.

Congrats! Makes me want to pull out the Ford lump for an LS. I assume you'll have it at the midwest gathering this year?

Geeez, talk about a bat out of hell . . . that thing screams.

Just keep your left elbow off that rear tire . . . or buy some rear fenders.

This is the first I've really seen of your build. Congratulations. It looks very impressive.

Cheers,

Hey Gale!
Sorry I'm late to the party, I don't know how I missed this thread... but I did. Great video, great first drive and that Chebby motor sounds wunnerfull, Bro! I do worry you're gonna abrade your left elbow off, but other'n that, the car looks and sounds like a winner!
Congratulations!

Thanks again guys

Larry and Glen, we do plan to make it to the Midwest meet this year as usual. Its practically in my back yard this time. Chuck are you coming this year?

Tom i do remember the call, enjoyed the conversation. J. Meyers said he talked to you also. Did you know John bought a DP2 from Palatov in Portland.

JD and Lonnie, actually I did damage my left elbow on that little run. As per custom I took the car ¼ mile out to a nice wide paved country intersection to do a transmission/drive train test.(spin it around in the intersection a few times in both directions to see how it behaves). I had forgotten that Lana had just finished upholstering her beautiful aluminum cover for the AC plenum and it was not attached yet. It flew off of course and somehow the left rear sticky tire picked it up and gave me a nice whack with it. It could have been worse. She is still a little p%#&d off at having to rebuild it.

I haven't decided just yet. I'm trying to convice myself that 650 miles one way is not too bad a drive in my locost. Still, I'm tempted now that I have my top completed and ready to go. It may not take all that much convincing. Maybe I could talk davew, Bill B and Graham to form some sort of a Locost convoy?

Stay tuned.....
