I ended putting the speedo sending unit on a rear hub. I had it on the driveshaft, but it turns out that the sender cant deal with more than 40Hz.
If you do order, get the now available tach sense wire with the 625K resistor...absolutely necessary.
Avoid ground loops. Dont connect the tach sense ground if you are using the power ground wire... I know, it sounds ridiculous.
I recommend a grounded copper foil shield around the wire wrapped on the spark plug wire and make sure that the sense wire is routed away from the other plug wires.

I can confirm this works nicely. I just install my vapor speedo on my R1, I just modified my tach sense wire and added in a 1M Ohm resistor (its the closest I had on hand) and I get nice clean signal, no need to buy anything additional.
