In other words, the output from the alternator and the positive battery lead need to be switched by the master cut-off so that when you flip it to the "Off" position, the car shuts down. If your switch only disconnects the battery, then the engine will continue to run (so will the fuel pump). That won't fly, per the rules.
I have to admit, however, I've never had my cutoff checked at an autocross. Track events, club races and hill climbs they definitely do. In the long run, you're gonna want to change that switch, or actually the wiring of that switch. Might get by "as is" at an autocross or two...

Thanks for the info and link! After I had finished wiring it on the negative side I realized I had goofed for competition purposes.
It's on my list of things to (re)do... I found this one note in SCCA section you just attached: "Note: DM and EM vehicles are exempt from the scattershield, driveshaft
hoop, and Master Switch requirements if they are using DOT approved tires."
I will be running DOT r-comps. Hopefully that will give me a little leeway as well.
