If you center mount the gauges then you can have a higher "cutout" below the steering wheel for more knee room.
I prefer center mounted gauges, just seems more correct to me, but I just recently picked up a set of period correct dynamo powered lamps for my 30 year old bicycle. ...

OlderJack- Thanks, wow those footwells look tight, seems like a dead pedal is out of the question lol. Not even sure if my size 10.5 feet have a chance. Has anyone tried a SMG . But seriously, if I off set the engine trans, do I also reduce the stub axle length for the diff on that side as well, or do I let the driveshaft make up for the offset and keep the diff centered?
