I need some ideas and Locost sources for side mirrors.
Post pix of mounting and let me know where you sourced them?
Thanks,
Paul

I originally installed some convex peep mirrors I found on eBay. They are available other places too. Nice quality and fit well without any resonant vibration.

I had some difficulty, not with the mirrors, but with the view. They were not placed far enough outward to converge behind the car.

I now have EMGO TRUE VISION MIRRORS 20-78203. These are mounted further outward and now I can see things directly behind me. I just wish they had some convexicity to them. (that is a word isn't it? you know what I mean!). I have seen some very similar mirrors that have a slight horizontal bend without the verticle bend. Those would be perfect, but I couldn't find them at the time. Maybe in the future...... These cars are never done, are they?

This is a great thread. I've been thinking about what mirrors to use and how to mount them, and there are some really good examples here. Thanks all for posting up.

I wish we could have more threads like this for everything. Mufflers. Windshields. Roll bars. Taillights. All from different completed Locosts, all in one thread, maybe even all in one forum category. That would be nice.

I have the same clamp on type mirrors that Chuck had. [first photo] You just need to mount the mirror at eye level or higher up on the windshield bracket, so it is above the rear fender. ditto on the no vibration. I can't say that for the center shuttle mount mirror, that was a real battle. Dave W

Dave, my problem was not seeing over the fender, it was getting the centerline of the mirror out past the roll bar. My W/S stanchion is slightly inboard, not in line with the side of the car, bringing the mirror in with it. I could see straight back from the mirrors and out, but could any convergence was blocked first by the roll bar and then by my own shoulder. I could not see anything directly behind me. If I could have mounted them further out from the W/S, I would have kept them. Unfortunately, I could not find an aesthetically pleasing (to me) way to do that. I really liked the clamp-ons for overall field of view.

I recently installed a diminutive day/night rearview mirror that attaches to the windshield glass. It is "fairly" vibration-free.
