I choose them for the cost. The rest of the car wasn't that shiny so stainless latches weren't as important to me.

If I polished my car as nice as Tony did, I would want the stainless latches.

Makes sense. I was wondering if it had any thing to do with the durability of the finish. I guess if you don't start shiny you don't have to worry about keeping it shiny. Less shining, more driving. Makes sense.

Overcenter latches. Adjustable, lockable, stainless, ten bucks each. Not the largest in the world, but I've found them to be pretty strong.

I like old fashioned leather belt and buckles, ultra secure look the piece as well.

I bought these. Liked the adjustability. Price wasn't bad. They do have a large selection.

That's what I'm planning on using. Once I figure out what to do with the 4AGE inlet thingy that wants to stick through the side of the hood...

Something like 70-80% of all Locosts have an air filter or two sticking out of the hood, or a scoop or bulge to hide it. So no shame there.

For me, the straps look good but are a little too pre-1960. I guess it's just a question of what era you're going for.

Update on the Moore latches...they don't fit. Way to short to fit my hood.

Was seduced by the adjustable length. Doesn't adjust long enough 8<(

Was pointed to some latches at Aircraft Spruce. They look nice but I haven't decided yet. I do have some that work but I'm not real happy with them so I'm still looking.

Open to suggestions.
