What about the Elise? Wasn't that a parts bin part from a cheaper more common car, at least in England?

I've now found enough Donkervoort pictures to ascertain that at least three noticeably different windshields were used over the years. And they first went to the curved windshields back when they were building more conventional-looking 7s.

Back on the electrically heated windshield thing, a place in England called "Ricky Evans Motorsports shows Westfield windshields in stock at 195 BP.

They also show curved, heated windshields for the Hillman Imp, Lotus Elan, Sunbeam Talbot, classic and Super Beetle in the same general price range.

If you live somewhere where a defroster or defogger is mandatory, a heated windshield would be expensive, but it would save heater plumbing and air ducting.

I'd also like to mention that the first time I did a track day, I got an extra session because Tyrannosaurus RX had a functioning defroster. First run group was at 0800 on a "brisk!" November morning, and the marshals wouldn't let cars with fogged or frosted windshields out on the track.

I'm planning to use Spitfire/GT6 front glass that has been modified with a short cut across the bottom corners to lay it back more.
About the cheapest curved glass you can buy.
I can ruin several and still be $$$ ahead of a Speedster windscreen.

Can you post a pic of where you cut the Spitfire windshield to get the extra lay back?

I have it marked but not yet cut.
Basically just taking a 1.5 - 2.0 inches off each of the lower corners.
Should give it a nice rake.

Oh, and for another curved small car windshield consider Renault Dauphine.
Sure it's an old odd-ball but they made LOTS of them.
The Caravelle/Floride glass might be good too if it can be found.

The Super Beetle windshield should work. I don't believe the S/Bs were any wider through the body than the standard Bug, and that bug body in the pic seems to fit the Locost scuttle very nicely!

Being that this has been resurrected...I might consider a superbeetle convertible windshield...the top looks a little flatter while the sides are still curved...
