Morgan uses Mini Headlights I believe. I'm sure they're not cheap either though with their motorized projection housing.

Doesn't the Morgan Aero use new Bug headlights, reversed L/R?

Our DIY Car: The Quest for 100 MPG
http://www.motherearthnews.com/100-MPG-Car/MAX-Auto-X-Prize.aspx

Quote:
Breaking News
As we went to press, we decided to trade our Auto X Prize entry form for a press pass. In short, the mass production requirements of the competition were interfering with our DIY goals. We want to give MAX our full focus as a car you can build. When the Auto X Prize races begin, Jack will report on the competition as he drives MAX along the way.

To hear more about this decision, read MAX Update No. 32: Why We Resigned from the Auto X Prize. To keep tabs on all things MAX, visit the 100-mpg Car page.

Not meaning to speak for Jack but he did describe it in his lastest article....Usually I just look at the pictures except when Jack writes.

Thnx mr.p.d,
I was aware of the retreat from XPrize, just wondering if any further progress has been made on the DIY/homebuilder front.

The original Aero 8 did use Beetle lights swapped over left for right, but it got complaints that it looked cross eyed, so they changed it to swapped Mini lights and now it looks a little bit less cross eyed.

Some progress, Mike, but I'm currently still reeling from the computers-and-backups theft, and I may be throwing the Prisoner body back on for a week so I can re-run the baseline tests.

The X Prize thing...I'll fill y'all in later, but there's more to it than I posted on the Mother Earth News "MAX Updates" blog (or the magazine, for that matter). Suffice it to say that we're pursuing different agendas.

Thnx for the reply Jack. I gotta admit, what with the theft, I really didn't expect a response, I figured you had more pressing matters to attend to. Having worked in a small manufacturing/retail concern, I can't even begin to imagine your difficulties.
As for the "different agendas", well, with a prize that large, it can only mean "Follow the Money..."

Why is everyone so focused on side impact protection. I look at the side pods and see the biggest trunk a locost could manage!

Now put your luggage in the side pods and you have even better side impact to go along with storage
