I browsed through a yard this morning and found two pairs of side windows that fit my plan reasonably close, close enough that I can jigger the door dims a bit to make it fit.

One pair is on a Fiat Bertone and somebody already had dibs on the whole car. Maybe for a locost donor? :) The other is an old Chevy LUV pickup. For some reason that truck has narrower (vertically) windows than most anything else, plus the forward edge is angled less far back than most. Anyway the dims were within an inch of my specs. And it is curved. An old Volvo almost made the grade but has flat side glass.

I'm thinking about getting the track and winder stuff along with the glass, to see if I can fit it all into my doors.

Looks like a Czech made Velorex. Built late 50's into the 70's

Google Images for Velorex, you'll find a lot out there.

Our car needs some vent windows. The air comes around the wind screen and blows the lose ends of the belts up into your face. I bet they help aero a fair bit as well.

They are easy to make out of plexiglass.

Buy the thickest storm window material, small hinges, and adhesive-backed, clear plastic buttons from Lowes, Home Depot etc.

Practice drilling holes in the window/plexi until you can do it without cracking or buy a special bit for drilling plastic.

Install patterns (from metal to hold the shape) with hinges to the windscreen frame. Leave room for the extra thickness of the plexi.

Using an angle grinder, grind the curve of the pattern for each side into blocks of wood. 2x4 may be big enough.

Trim the storm window oversize with a die grinder and friction disc, preheat the electric (not gas) oven to 200 degrees F, then place the flat windows on top of the wood blocks.

Watch for the window to sag into the curve of the wood.

Immediately remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before removing from the wood form. Hold the plastic at the correct shape with oven mitts if necessary until cool, then peel the protective blue plastic.

Use through holes in the plexi and locking nuts.

One can make tail lights and headlight covers the same way. Prismatic material from a light fixture or sign shop is also required for the tail lights unless separate reflectors are used. Check your code.

Oh yeah that's for shaping the plexi. I was just thinking of doing like the red cars with a flat piece on hinges. I would love to try to shape plexi once or twice though. I've heard acrylic is better for shaping just not as shatter resistant.

Some "fresh" examples from the 2012 Mitty at Road Atlanta:

An unrestored Jaguar xk120 and an Austin Healey with the two-position windscreen. The Austin lifts off the forward post racing position for the more upright, normal driving position.

An interesting old post with some useful info. Unfortunately I think I read that collection was going to be sold.

At some much later point in my build I hope to do some 3d printed investment castings of windshield mountings. Tops are waaayyy off.
