I did, and of course, I did not write them down either. :BH: It is quite narrow, however, and "curved" is a pretty kind word for it, certainly compared to even the MGB.

However, the shape was so entirely wrong for the Bauhaus that I did not even give it another thought. If you are going VDub, the Porsches (550, 356, Speedster) have more curve and a better shape (imho) than the Beetles.

OK, guys! I got the Super beetle dimensions. Width; 43", Height; 20.5" at center, Curvature; 7.5" measured at bottom center! Does that sound usable to anyone? May not work for the Bauhaus build, but maybe the 'Lalo'. Width is very close to MKEJim's 41"

Take a look at Triumph Spitfire.
Curved and fairly narrow but not too tall so should work without having to be cut.
Can be had NEW for under $100.00
I have a spare I intend to use.
I may just trim the lower corners to lay it back more without creating a gap at the bottom.

My poking around suggests the same. The Spit is an option. But the MGB shield is much shorter and looks about the same width. Not wildly expensive either. Would be great to get official measurements, but side by side pics tell the shortness story quite clearly.

My interest in the Vette windshield is width and curvature. Curvature measured at the bottom center is something like 17". Totally batmobile.

That said, the '53 is said to be shorter (some sources) and not (other sources) than the 56-62, so anecdote or not, that is the current target shield for the Bauhaus. Obviously, a locust-based chassis would look funny at that width.

By MGB wind screen you mean something like this cut-down example?

This guy used a wind screen from a 1967 Impala convertible for his MGB "sportster".

Yeah Geek, that cut down B windshield is the bomb. Exactly the look. Now, where to find someone who can do that for less than two first born children and critical body parts used in the making of same.

The Impala shield looks amazing too, but I am struggling to believe that is the stock size.

Barring a glass cutter of incredible ability, the high curvature approach is second. But you have me thinking evil thoughts about MG parts.

Is it safety glass? If it isn't laminate, it can't pass NJ inspection.

"How about using the rear window from a Metroplitan Nash?"

Back glass in the Nash Metro was three piece! Maybe not all years, but the ones I remember.

Edit: Just googled it. Some years had one-piece backlight. And, Back in the day, many cars had laminated glass in all windows. Maybe you'll get lucky!

I still think the Fiat TV 1200 glass is the ideal, but even at the "Sale" price it's $1,000

I measured my Spitfire/GT6 glass and frame.
It is curved all the way across but the curve is more pronounced at the ends.
GLASS, 45.5" wide at the base, 40.0" at the top with round corners.
15.5" high, 6.0" deep at the base, 3.5" deep at the top.
Outside of the steel frame is 47.5" at the base.

The Spit glass I have is wiper-scratched so no big loss if my experiment in trimming the corners does not work.
Only trimming the corners to increase the rake without creating a center gap.
I think I may be able to use Porsche Speedster mounts with the cut Spit glass.
If this works out I will buy new glass for actual use.

Also looked at my spare Alfa Romeo Spider windshield.
More curve, a bit taller, and perfect factory rake but with square corners.
Will try to get measurements on Sunday.

Do we need a separate sticky thread for glass discussion?

Submitted for consideration, Sunbeam Alpine Series V windshield. 48" wide, about $150 from Victoria British.

I had previously measured my Giulietta Spyder glass. A bit upright and about 52" across the frame, but I'm not using it as a donor, so...

The Sunbeam has been mentioned before and looks like another option, which brings me to the idea that we should start a thread with actual measurements. That way, when people see a cheap option in the yard or on eBay, a quick search will make it clear whether that will work for a particular build.

The strange thing is, all of these options seem to be coming in the 48"-52" range. Not as wide a spread as I'd have expected.
