"Caterham 620R slays Volkswagen Golf GTI"

What a strange title... or VW now make cars which are contenders to Sevens?

That was weird.Although sometimes they pit odd cars against each other.....its almost like what ever they have available in the press fleet that day or something.

From the way he was talking I would have thought they would put it against a Lambo or something really fast.

Not at all, a more common people's car so they can relate to the speed of the Caterham, it was never a duel.

Now, THAT looks like fun. You do need those wide-open roads though. It would be a bear in normal street traffic. You'd be climbing up the back end of every car in front of you.

I'm totally NOT into drifting. However, if a person were into it, that would make a very interesting drift car, don't you think?

Cheers,

I've been looking at the 620R to get ideas for my own build but I notice today that the bottom of the chassis is not flat. I haven't seen a picture of a bare chassis, but I wonder what the low-hanging section below the seats is all about. There's a fair bit that hangs down below the engine bay as well.

Landing hard and scraping the underside of a $74,000 car does not sound like fun.

The section below the seats appears to be the bottoms of the seats, and the bit below the engine bay appears to be the bottom of the engine.
