Wayne,
That's a gorgeous job! The dash turned out great. I'd love to hear that Q4 run.

That car sure looks like a Lotus. You need one of those caps, I don't know what they are called, but they are British. Maybe a pipe also. Jolly good show, great job.

That looks great! You must be very proud.

I recognize the center rear view mirror. I have thought about the same for my car. Question: With 2 people in the car, can you really see anything other than shoulders?

Thanks for the kind words.
Building a good looking car was always a priority. The Quad 4 is really a beast too. The car is running perfect not a problem at all.

The little mirror in the middle vibrates so much I can't really see much in it, but the side mirrors have real good visibility. you do see the top of the rear fenders though. I don't notice a problem with shoulders.
I took a wonderful drive yesterday in the mountains. Driving here in Colorado is so cool. I'm going to miss that when we move back to Houston.

That has got to be the most beautiful dash ever! I like your style, Wayne. I am hoping to do something similar to this. What is the thickness of the Mahogany? Also, what type of leather did you use for the seats?

Again, beautiful car. I am envious!

Can you explain to me the hydraulic throw out bearing? How does it work and why do you need it?

thanks for all the kind words.
Answers to questions.
The dash is a piece of 3/4" African mahogany. It cost me about 75 bucks. It has about 8 coats of marine varnish on it, polished out. The leather is just cow. I had that all left over from a furniture job I did some years back where I built a reception desk covered with leather.
the throw out bearing is just a hydraulic throw out. They come in two types, either a lever type with a slave cylinder pushing on the leaver or a hydraulic type pushed by the fluid. My t5 trans didn't come with a lever actuated throw out, so I went with the other type.
