After 9 months of what I would consider being completed I figured it was time to post.

Build Log: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13200

The car has an aircooled VW 1915CC motor 69 Stroke X 94 Bore. A VW Bus bell housing with a homemade adapter plate to a 924 torque tube and transaxle. The torque tube is contructed 3.5 3/16 round tube so I decided to make several mounts and make it part of the chassis structure. Being a boxer engine I new the engine would be smooth enough to rigid mount the drivetrain. The rear suspension is 924/944 trailing arms converted to GAZ coilover shocks and front is custom A arm with VW front spindels. All four corners have been converted to 5 x 4.75 chevy bolt pattern and disc brake with the proper VW master cylinder. Current build cost is about 5K with that price currently rising with as this winter project is more HP and revs by rebuilding the engine from a mild street engine into screamer. Current weight with me in it is 47%F/53%R with a total 1350 weight.

But next to a Caterham Seven it looks huge. This was the first time I relaized the book chassis is bigger than real deal.

Very cool. Something completely different. Like the left front lifting on the last corner on the first video. And ah yes, auto crossing in the wet in these is fun.
