I've tried many times to get the profile area to accept my website address. After I press the "submit" button and then go back to the profile page the website info is blank. Is this a known [to others] problem?

The profile accepted a minor signature change OK.

Is it filling in profanity or insults for your web address? (might be a word censor)

Are you using a fully qualified URL, i.e. with the http:// included?

For whatever reason the phbb software wont accept his addy as valid. It is
http://olrowdy_01.home.comcast.net/ and I tried putting it in myself to no avail. I think I've got it licked now though. I set up a "redirect" from this domain for him to use. I put in the redirected addy, http://locostusa/Olrowdy the software took it and now it does indeed take you to his site.

Whew.

I didn't think of that one when I made up the address many years ago (2001). I used the underscore in an attempt to stop spam. I figured the robots would remove it before sending me stuff. It must be helping because I get -no- spam mail.

I used to have an olrowdy email address. The last time I checked, I could send email to it but the account is messed up and I can't access it. There must be a lot of dead spam mail sitting there.

My problem is similar dumped AT&T en Toto (Dish tvtelephone/internet)
and went with Cable One (local serv.) I took a free Yahoo acct. to save my attachments, photos, saved letters, etc. and made every effort to contact moderators to retain service. It worked on this one but Locost_North_America@yahoogroups.com hasn't sent a posting in 6 days.
I get a message automatically stating that I am awaiting moderator's approval. This has gone on too long. I was a member in good standing, but the damned filter wouldn't let me contact anyone with my new address and the mail form has my new one I can't remove to use the defunct one to get through. It shouldn't be necessary to re-join just to edit your address. Cheers Keith Williams
