I downloaded a photo attachment mod for the boards but thus far haven't been able to figure out the installation. I thought since I have more bandwidth to play with now it would be a smart/usefuel upgrade. I created a mirror of these forums to try it on so I won't wreck the place in the process of upgrading. We don't have any helpful phpbb editors here do we? With some help I could get it done faster. Left to figure it out myself, it could be a while. :P

done it a million times
just need to drop it into the correct folder on the site and follow the instructions. it goes much simpler if you use easymod though thats the route I'd suggest.

in order to run a copy of the bb on your home compter, you'll need several things
apache for web serving
php5 to run php
and mysql for databasing (complete with a copy of the database)


It takes me about 15 minutes to set a board up start to finish, but thats on a server with all these pieces in place.

you can turn any box with windows 98 or later into a webserver with just a few free downloads.

OK, this is me, chetcpo, posting as my evil alter-ego. I had to test this new mod out so I generated this account for that purpose. I will delete it following a successful testing period.

Very Nice...is this viewable to registered uses or to everyone (guest)? I have noticed that at times the guest out number the registered users.

How will this effect bandwidth consumtion? Sorry just a few questions.

Negatively I'm sure. :D

We only used 1/3 of our bandwidth this month so as long as it only doubles we should be fine.
