Team Mod just upped the editing limit to 24 hours, due to popular enthusiasm.......

We're thinking about removing the editing limit entirely, based largely on the comments here.

To paraphrase Judge Chamberlain Haller (My Cousin Vinney): "That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out consideration."

I commend our Honorable and Benevolent Lord and Dictator for your recent action. This plebe (and both poor typist and proofreader) thanks you and supports your impending expansion of this gift. A most wonderous time of year this is.

All hail Hempy!!

BTW FieroReinke, I think Dave also fixed your original login. So now you have a spare... :)

Hey, I think I'll open up a second one, so I can laugh at my own jokes!
Who knows, maybe the second identity will be smarter than the first one...

We had this happen once, the guy was having whole conversations with himself and the two halfs had a great deal of respect for each other. I don't remember the details, but it ended badly...

OK - Seems there's complete support for upping the editing limit to 24 hours (which we've had for a day or two), and some additional support for eliminating the limit altogether. No one seems opposed to removing it. Having no editing restrictions did work quite well for the preceding near-decade.

So...it is gone! Go fix your typos, all you OCD fumble-fingers!

I'd like to add some mumbo-jumbo somewhere saying that poopheads who abuse it will be sanctioned...but I think the masses take care of that pretty well on their own, and I'm too busy to be draconian on top of being a dictator.

Cheers,
-dave

That's very good news!

Now it's also up to everybody else to not even consider abusing this...Remember, with great power comes great responsibility.

Dave, I would be right in assuming I can go back on all my old posts and replace those little X's that showed up when webshots suddenly went off into the great pie in the sky beyond?

Muchas Gracias!

But I thought "I'm too busy to be draconian on top of being a dictator." would be so much fun that if I ever go the power I'd never want to stop. You're telling me I'm wrong? Again!
