You might look at the Eplorer type mount, it is a piece of flat plate extending out from the side of the eng. One thing that concerns me about using an eng with lots of torque is the angled mounts pulling the rails together as the eng torques. I intend to mostly copy the Explorer plates in heavy ga aluminum using poly trans mounts at all 3 points.

I was browsing a scrap yard looking for bends, when I realized I didn`t have my wallet with me....
Then had to go back home just to find a water damaged Ping Pong Table that i had siting for a couple of years now and guess what, 4 Bends, they`re about 16 ga, but as they`re only holding the skin I think they`re OK.
It also had 4 lengths of flat bar with rounded ends with bolt holes, so I cut the ends forBrake Pipe Brakets (8 ends) and my tank mounting plates.
This gets me through most of the chassis now.
Still to do (mmmm Postergating!!! ) the Suspension Mounting Brakets and The Engine Cradle Tubes.
I`m getting quite e bit of surface rust as the sea is maybe 100 mt from my house; and don`t know when will it be a good time to sndblast and paint.
If now that I have minor welding to do or when I have finished everything.
Find below a couple of pics of the Bends. They have a 6" external Radius.
The lower ones have holes in them, I may weld them shut.

I haven`t checked it, but will have sooner than later to finish my chassis....
I have seen a couple of fabricated ones but not made a decision yet as which one to use.

Finally put up postergating... :) :) :)
I finally got to calculating front suspension set up.
According to this: http://www.racingaspirations.com/suspensiongeometry.php
And sarting with the following numbers,
6º Camber, 348 mm upper Wishbone length, 454 Lower Wishbone length, -3.27 lower wishbone angle (3º according to drawing on build Table) 199 mm Mounting Point distance on Hub (Balljoint Center to center),
This yields a SAL of 1458 mm and a -17 mm horizontal deflection @ 75 mm Bump, 3 mm horizontal deflection @ 56 mm Droop.
-3.75º Max camber change @ full bump and 2 º Max on 2" droop.
As far as I know, this should me well within acceptable.
As stated earlier, I`m using `97 Mustang Spindles, and going for it...
well unless any of you experts foresee any major problems.
:D :D :D
I will take pictures and measurements this weekend when I can have some Quality Time with my son errr... Locost!!!

Hi Chanoquin:

I am not able to use that web site right now, though it worked for me in the past. I think you can post a link that contains your data, it is shown lower down on the page and contains the info that you put in.

I thought you had a lot of camber change from bump to drop, but I'm trying to think thru the numbers and it might be right. If the car rolls 2 degrees, that should use up about 1" of bump travel and change the camber about 2 degrees?

This should read King Pin Inclination, as camber will be closer to 0.5º....

Hi to all,
This post is to bring my log back to life again.
Due to losing my job (formal) and having to do from constructtion to elding and other, i haven´t done much to the car.
I got a Job 1 month ago where I don´t go to work on Saturdays -FINALLY!!
So that will give part of my lost time back.
Tomorrow I have scheduled to re arrange the shop to continue the build.
I will take a few pictures to show what was the re-start status.
regards
Chanoquin

Ok,
Finally some advances...
I don´t know hou you guys manage to have your chassis all shiney,
mine was a pile of rust so I decided to paint with a high solids epoxi primer.
I still have welding to do, but I´ll grind as required for the remainder.

I cut the 1/8" anti-skid aluminum plate for the floors, and the rear firewall, battery compartment, and started to fabricate the seats...
In other post, I said that next time I´ll just buy the seats.
I´ve been washing parts, and will refurbish uprights, discs, calipers and Live axle.

When I bought my steel, it had a small layer of oil on it to prevent it from rusting as fast. Its annoying to have to clean it off when painting, but it really helps to keep the rust down.

Others use steel which similar to stainless, but not as good. I can't remember what its called, but it doesn't rust as fast as plain steel.

Every little thing you do helps to keep the build going. Keep at it!

One is the wheel and the other is a 1991 V8 Cougar propshaft cut to length, actually over lengthto have a substantial overlap, this will be welded later on.

No luck,
I´ll try later...
Sorry..
HHHH, anyway i´m no longer on the third page. 8) :D

Due to a back injury, I´ve been out of the shop since mid November, I have been buying stuff here and there but not doing anything to the car.
According to a list gathered somewhere in the "Net" Engine
Clutch, Transmission, Differential, Driveshaft, Axles, Engine management, Radiator, Fuel tank, Fuel pump ??, Control arms[/b], Bushings, Steering rack, Tie rods, Steering column, Wheels, Tires, Shocks, Brake hydraulics, Brake master cylinders, Brake pedal, Brake pads, Clutch pedal ???, Seats, Steering wheel, Gauges, Switches, Front turn indicators, Headlights, Taillights, Body
Bold face I have.
I don´t know why it seem I am so looooong from having a car...

Hi All...
Back at it again...
Chassis has been painted, Engine Mounts fabricated, Scuttle fabricated, Steering wheel miunting points, e-brake handle brackets, Transmission Bracket, Differential housing brakets welded,
Transmission tunnel skins, rear firewall and floors have been attached with plenty of rivets and Sika PU Adhesive, Upper A Arms re made, Trailing arms done, bracket for External Hydraulic clutch slave fabricated.
Next comes shock absorber mounting points, Lower A Arms, Shorten and weld Prop Shaft, fabricate Panhard Rod and pivots.
Thinking on onstalling Pedal Box and start sorting Dash and wiring.

Ha..
Yes, although I have been working on it, just not posting much...

Side panels, tunnel pannels, attached, except for tunnel top cover.

Another view. Steering wheel and switchgear from Chevrolet Matiz, Scutttle from Kinetic... Butchered to fit chassis.
On left side of tunnel you can see bracket to attach external clutch slave, I may need to get bigger master cylinder. Time will tell....

Front view from scuttle. Note Modified Q tube.
Disregard red/grey firewall, thinner bottle spill messed up paint but not Epoxy primer.

I like it! Glad you're making progress despite difficulties. My own is a respite from my daily grind.
