Thanks Lonnie, I just ordered the book off Amazon, now I have a couple weeks until it arrives. I guess I will have to turn my attention to one of the other thousand parts I need to build, I'm thinking seats.

I think you'll be happy with the information in the book, Curtis. As you said, there are 1,000 other things to do in the meantime.

Cheers,

Hey Lefty!

I'm in AB too! Lethbridge to be exact, displaced Brit by way of Wales and New Zealand. Nice to see another build up here, I've yet to post my progress because A) It's slow and B) I keep getting distracted by job, kids and a POS (as my wife calls it - with no affection at all!) Foxbody mustang and a 5.3 LS. Until I do, I'll keep living vicariously through all the great builds here.

Keep up the great work!

Jinca

Jinca! Welcome to the gang, I lurked around this site for years before sharing my progress, but it is super worth it to share in order to meet others in my area going through similar builds. There are a couple other Alberta based guys kicking around here.
Post a picture of what you have cooking, slow progress is still progress!

Wow, looks like you have a far better shop situation than I have. Looks like a classroom from the University, are you getting some free labor from the students or what?

Haha! Yah pretty much actually!

I teach Junior High at an alternative school, as a carrot for attendance for a couple of them I brought in my 302, which we rebuilt. Then we did the build table - I'd had the steel in my garage for about 5 years while I 'planned' Everything is back home now - that'd be the grungy looking picture with the concrete floor! Trying to find time around kids activities to get more done.

So, being a fellow Albertan, I have to ask. Exactly where in Sunny Alberta are you building this 7?

I believe Jinca mentioned he was down in Lethbridge, and I am in Airdrie.

Hi Perry,

I've followed your impressive builds closely! - nice to make your acquaintance Sir! Lefty is correct I'm in Lethbridge. Feels better to join the conversation finally rather than lurk, I don't know if I have anything valuable to add but I generally have 2 cents in my pocket!

Would you share the process you used to get those spindles cleaned up? They look better than showroom new. I have two that need to be cleaned up.

Cheers,

I can, but your not going to like it! it was a wire wheel on a grinder for about a day, brake clean, and Tremclad paint, nothing fancy.
My friend did just purchase a sandblasting cabinet (a little late I say) so we have been blasting parts like backing plates and what not.

Glad to meet you also. Like Lefty says, start a build log, put on some pics of what you have so far (even the POS build). Next thing you know you'll surpass JD in pages posted!

I will start a log, but I think JD may have to take some time away in order for me to post as much as him!
I want to see more of Lefty's work :D

Told y'all that Perry couldn't actually read, he just looks at the purty pictures. Now you believe me???

Hey Jinca- Yeah, you should start a build log. Just post a few things, text, pictures of your cars, sausage recipes, pictures of goats or Nearly Naked Chinese Chicks. You know, the usual stuff...

Seriously (sort of...), we'd all like to see what you're building and if you got some unique engineering going on, I'm sure we'd like that too!
