It's about time I updated my build. Got the windshield frame bent and the side mounts made and mocked up.

Hey Russ, I am glad you are still at it. I will need to invite you down sometime soon to share my progress.

I tend to skip around on my build. Just depends on what I feel like when I go into the garage. I decided to try my luck at building the covering for the master cylinders. Lots of looking and thinking trying to figure this out. The original flanges I built into the scuttle for this purpose ended up having to be modified. My problem is I want everything to be easily disassembled so I end up spending a lot of time trying to engineer a solution. End product came out pretty good.

Mnot,
with the rear facing reservoirs, the cover needs to be removed. That's the negative of this setup. I do have the option of using remote reservoirs mounted on the firewall but I wanted to keep things as clean as possible to begin with.

Working on the exhaust system. I'm interested to hear what the $30 Cherry Bomb muffler sounds like. I've got an idea on a shield design but that will come later.

Russ, what size pipe are you using? The cherry bomb looks pretty long, is it?

It was the longest I could find at 30.5". Inlet is 2 1/4". I wanted a longer muffler to run down the side of the car as I think that looks better.

Especially for something exiting next to your ear.

The others are right, it's going to be loud. I've got cheap glasspacks as side pipes on my car too, and it's loud. Doesn't sound too bad with a 60 degree v6 though. Might not be too bad with a 4 either.

There is a reason they are called cherry bombs. 8)

You may need a resonator to remove some of the raspy notes, unless you like that sort of tone.

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

Later if you find it too loud:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-17878/overview/

It will get louder as you use it, blowing out the fiberglass packing.
