Amistad High School Indio Ca.

This all started in 2009, I was surfing the web and ran upon Jacks site. I thought this would make a good project for my Auto Tech class. I have family that lives in Cave Junction and I was up there in Nov. 2009. I had a great time talking to him and he showed me around the shop. I bought a book from him and headed home.

When I got back to school I talked to the students and they were excited about it. I orderd metal and parts from Jack and we got started. Well we finished the frame things changed and I retired at the end of the year.

In the fall I started teaching Part time at the local Jr College (College of the Desert, Palm Desert Ca.) I have a couple of my High School students attending there and we made arangements and got the frame and are finishing it there.

We are going to put a v6 out of a Ford ranger that runs on natural gas and hope to be able to get it to run on hydrogen.
so now it is a project in co-op with the High School and The Jr College.

I did have the build on the web site at the High School but it was deleted when I left.

I saw University High's build and decided it was time to post the build here. I can tell they are having fun and doing a fine Job.

Oh and I thought I would mention I graduated from Bloomington High in 1966 and had friends that went to University High so it is really fun to see their project. This is Jake and Chandler. Chandler did a lot of the layout and Jake did most of the welding

Very unsafe welding practices going on there. Take it from the skin cancer king of Arizona. Youth absorbs all things harmfull and saves it for later.

We have taken a major shift in direction, we acquired a 1998 Civic cng last year we are now shifting to a mid engine which will take modification of the frame and suspension
