Perry, there are so many bad things that could be said in response to that statement. I'm trying to restrain myself...

Sheet metal work looks amazing! Thanks for the pictures and tutorials.

Yes, JD, I was giggling just typing that out. Can you buy bonnet straps made out of black latex rubber????????

Don't go searcing images with the words latex rubber bonnet straps. I did

BTW, Nice dual exhaust. (I think that is OK to say?) Was the polishing effort worth it? I'm thinking of doing the same but don't want to get 1/2 way into it and find it too much effort. I was really impressed with Graham's car's finish at last year's Gathering.

Thanks rx7. I'm going to guesstimate that I spend 1 hr per body panel. Rear panel, scuttle, 2 side panels, 2 bonnet panels, tunnel top, rear boot top, 4 fenders. So maybe 12 - 14hrs?

Same here. Get the same thing - file is invalid. Can't upload pics.

Hi Perry-
I had the same problem again this morning, so I posted a note about it in the "Complaint" section, or whatever they call it... Should be fixed soon.

Been working on the boot and rear end of the body. Cut slots for the seat belts. Fabbed the boot lid, hinged, and lockset installed.

Cut out the gas cap hatch and hinged it.

To hold the hatch closed, I used back to back magnets glued in place. Keeps the hatch in place and is very easy to open.

This I believe is the LAST piece of aluminum I have to put on the car. Next is polishing.

Bodywork looks very tidy. I'm looking forward to seeing it all buffed up.

Nice boot lid. I was pondering whether I would like a lockable boot for the convenience, or just a tonneau cover for the looks. I suppose one could have the best of both worlds and put a tonneau OVER a lockable boot, but that might be overkill. Kind of like a belt and suspenders...

No fabrication today. Installed fenders and various bits and pieces for one last fit check. Will start polishing in a day or too. then next project is the wind screen and grill. Took the 7 out for some sun today and to see what it looks like from 20 -30 feet away

Thanks Mike B, that's a rag and tube Bushmaster II 36'WS, 62HP rotax, 2 person side x side that took me 5 years to build. I've applied a lot of that building experience to the Locost, the only thing that isn't critical with the 7 is weight consideration when you decide to add something.

Today I finished polishing the rear top and boot lid. Installed seat belts through the rear top. Fabbed up some bling for the backs of the seats.

That looks stunning! I like the cutouts on the back of the seat. You have a great eye for detail.

The bushmaster is a nice plane as well. Do you have your own strip?

The positioning of the license plate light is ummmmm, "unfortunate".

BTW your pants are unzipped.
