Most of you know that I just bought EcotecLocost's stalled SV project. So here's a little back story and the start of a new build log.
We struck a deal a little over a month ago and I had to figure out how and when I would make it to Michigan to bring it home.
Wifey Dearest and I headed to Chicago to spend the week of July 4th with her brother and his family. When we got there we got seriously involved in getting his remodel project back on track and ended up staying the whole month of July.
During that time I needed to schedule a trip to Michigan for work, so we decided to combine the two. We drove from Chicago to Detroit suburbs where my headquarters is located and EcotecLocost only lives 18 miles from my office...
Thursday 8/1 I rented a 5x8 U-Haul for the engine, tranny, frame and small bits. We strapped a lot of the steel to my roof rack.
Friday 8/2 Had a 35 year work anniversary lunch, then hit the road... 625 miles to home
12:30 am 8/3 pulled into the driveway in Greensboro.
Slept in Saturday morning, then unloaded the trailer. I didn't have anything handy to rest the frame on, but we had just bought a new lawn mower...

I'm not 100% sold on the Ecotec motor tranny combo. It's nice, but dang it's huge.
Spent a little time eyeballing a Miata NB roller skate on FB marketplace, talked to Wifey Dearest and made an offer. A low offer...
Seller accepted, so last night we drove to a Durham suburb and brought home the rest of the supplies needed to build the SV.

Motor, trans, Torsen LSD, radiator and fans, complete wiring harness, steering column, ECU, instrument cluster, and lots of small goodies in the tote.
I have to do work on the A Mod before I start this in earnest, but look for regular updates.
