I removed my dash, sanded it and reshot it with Nason two-part clear. Looks much better. But the strap on my mask broke and I took a big lung full of clear with hardener. I finally ended up in the ER with a nebulizer of abuterol, which made me feel instantly better!

The the polyisocyanates induce asthma, apparently. It's no fun. Glad I won't be shooting more of this any time soon.

I think it was Union Carbide...

Poly isocyanates killed 1400 people in Bopah Columbia. That was Union Carbide. If you shoot 2-part paints for a living you are supposed to use a supplied air respirator but the'y're about $1,500 bucks. I've never had a problem when the mask is on tight.

That's right it was Union Carbide. Bhopal India. Hard to get a real count on the death toll. I remember when it happened they couldn't decide between a little over a 1000 to almost 10,000.

I wear a high end 2 canister respirator when shooting 2k paints.

Hurray! No more vacuum leaks! My car now idles like a pumped up Pinto on steroids. Of note to all Ford SOHC motor owners. My motor suddenly lost about a third of it's power a few days ago and the webers started spitting loads of fuel in my phase. Turns out my high performance adjustable cam pulley suddenly shifted about 15 degrees. I put it back and added some Loctite. Problem solved!

Winter! Time to Add Horsepower, a 5-speed and a roll bar brace! I'm blue printing/balancing the bottom half of the motor, lightened the flywheel, and added 11:1 forged pistons. I also studded the head and added high strength rod bolts to hold the lower end together. The T5 tranny is from a V8 mustang so it should be good behind this four banger for awhile. I had to get a custom clutch disc from Clutch masters to make it work.

I flipped the car upside down to weld in a plate for the roll bar brace which will run between the center of the roll bar hoop and the passenger footwell. It's removable for street drives.
