Gordon, you might want to get a hold of Lance Crain, he may have the records for your Centaur, or may be able to provide a copy of the MSO or C of O. If not he may be able to get a hold of Leon Ellory, who originally developed the Centaur and see if he has some sort of documentation on it.

I like the wheels on the center car, however for a car with clamshells, the upper ones might be better.

If I had your car which is classicly styled, BRG paint, clam shell fenders and bench seat, then I would go with the Konig Rewind. I think these look great. They are clones of Minilites and would be period-correct for your car.

Yep, what he said! I'm a big fan of the Rewinds, had them on my MGB racer. Good wheels, they look a LOT like Minilites, are not very heavy... Good call, Greg!

Gordon,

I believe Lance bought all of the remaining Centaurs. Here is a link to his website regarding the Centaur. < http://www.pirate7.com/9.html > He also posted a thread on USA7's a number of years ago explaining the Centaur. < http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2045 >

+1 on the Rewinds. I've got them on my Miata and I'll have a set on the Locost one of these days.

....after dealing last week with a very confused License bureau woman, I went in today to see if all the original information on the car had been found and sent to the 'powers that be'....thought it wouldn't hurt to check even if a week or two early.....there was another woman there and she couldn't find the info from the 1st woman, and said 'what have you got as proof'....I handed her a file full of brochures, Kit Car Magazine articles, a notarized affidavit, and a letter from a Kit car dealer north of Toronto....she said 'looks good to me'....and re-entered the car registration as KIT...and gave me a new 19 digit VIN number....and the model is KIT.
I handed her $64.00 and she handed me my sticker....

first legal drive.....

Isn't it amazing just how stressful it is getting that last paperwork done?

...I offered to take her to supper....or, if I was younger, to name a child after her....whew.....

Now to get the 12A rotary tuned... running pretty rich (according to the emission's test....at least it gave me that info) and lots of fuel in the exhaust....!
