That's a good looking car, nice work. That blue looks really good in the sunlight too.

Thanks guys. It's really been a crazy month to get this thing close to being done. The next thing on the list is going to be to get a grill on it and begin the registration process. I hope it goes easily.

Started working on the grill. The perforated steel is 16 gauge with 1/4" holes. The surrounding rod is 5/16". I forget who I bought the emblem from but I believe it was a member of this forum. I'll be blacking out the white behind the grill portion. Should be welding it up and painting this weekend.

Looking nice. What did you bend the tubing with?

Cheers,

EDIT: I see you said rod, not tube. So, it's solid metal?

Ended up buying one of those harbor freight ring rollers but couldn't get it to bend the unequal radius bends. It was "easier" for me to get the match by bending it over a smaller diameter pipe chucked into a bench vise.

Painted the grill. Should be painting the nose cone soon and mounting it.

That looks great, but . . (now that it's too late) I'd be worried that that tight of a mesh would hinder air flow. I know the expanded metal mesh on my utility trailer almost acts as an air brake when it's waving around up in the air and I've heard other people complain about the reduced air flow when using a mesh even bigger than the expanded metal.

That looks great. Now you need to paint the mounting screws.

Too late for you but for future readers, you can do the same thing using galvanized brake tubing. It bends nicely by hand. That is what I did.
