It's been over two years since finishing Kate and I've done almost nothing to her other than drive her around town! I've never thought about selling the car...I built it just like I wanted just for me, but do to limited storage space and health issues, the thought of selling her came up. I'm not sure I could ever sell Kate!

It's tough to say Gar, it's all about who, where, and when for selling a Locost.

People will pay more for a Robin Hood, CMC, or something "branded" if you know what I mean.

I've sold 3 now. 2 finished for between 7 and 8 k each, and the Zetec car at about 80% complete for a good bit less.

You don't have room for a lift in the garage?. These cars can almost fit on a shelf.

Unfortunately I have no room for a lift, as my garage doors and rafters are much too low. I don't really WANT to sell my car...I was just wondering what it would be worth. At my last job's rate of pay, figuring I have 1500 - 2000 hours of labor invested...so I have about $75,000 in labor cost in the build PLUS as much as $15,000 in supplies and parts!! So if I could sell it for $90,000, I would have a fair return on my efforts : - )

Put it on Ebay with a reserve price of what you'd take for it today and see what happens. If it doesn't sell, you'll at least see what the real-life worth is.

Kate's cute, I like blondes. I didn't know you could sell them. I've seen guys trade them in for younger models but if you can sell them that opens up a whole world of options!!!!!!!!!!!!

So she's not for sale? I probably couldn't afford her anyway. DARN!

The car's nice too. I have no idea of price because I seem to see them all over the board. I'm afraid RHD will be a severe issue and probably drop your price quite a bit. Some states won't pass them and having driven a RHD car over here, I'm just not sure I'd like to do it again, especially in a little car that's hard to see in the first place.

Have you checked that recently? I'm not finding any prohibitions for right hand drive in any US state or Canadian province.

There are no problem owning or driving a RHD vehicle in Florida...I've owned three RHD cars in this state, a Bugeye, a MiniCooper and the 7. I've driven RHD cars for more than 15 years and love them - that's why I build Kate RHD. I've never had a negative experience with them, but your mileage may vary.

Best advice is put it on ebay for a reserve that you can live with after considering ebay fees.

She's a beautiful car that's proven roadworthy. The RHD and other option deletes might put some off, but people who WANT a 7 aren't too concerned.

Can you add a little storage shed of sorts to your property?

Something like this comes to mind.

Somewhere, I've seen a picture of a guy who modified a small travel trailer by turning the back wall into a fold-down ramp so he could pull his 7 inside. Presumably he removed all the internals first...

Given how radically such trailers lose their resale value, it might not only be cheaper than buying a shed or garage, but you also wind up with an enclosed car hauler...

I have an 18' Coachmen trailer sitting in the back yard that only made it halfway through a remodel. Right now it's just a shell that's being used as a storage shed. Hmm... I'm going to need a place to park my car when it's done.

Garage Journal has a feature on a guy in Ontario Canada who used (in addition to ambition and artistry, and I don't use the term lightly), engineered trusses to open up his garage ceiling to allow for a partial-height lift.

Other have raised their garages with success. Most memorably by raising the entire thing and building new lower walls, though that put the windows at an odd height.

Then there's always storage facilities.
