Well shucks, Martin... Iffen I'd-a known you needed a brake pedal switch, I'd have given you a Lucas switch off an MGB.
Does the expression "Off, Dim and Flicker" mean anything to you?

I believe the sequence is "dim", "flicker", "PFFFFT" (accompanied by all the smoke leaking out), and "off".
 :D :BH:

Can you still get the pedal to the floor if something goes wrong?

Yes, the pedal moves away from the switch. The switch is open when depressed.

I might have missed it somewhere, but did you have a link to what air filter setup you are using for it?

Did it need any changes to tuning?

The air filter is an ITG. I cut down the original airbox and made a base for the filter. There should a picture in the log.
These motors are very finicky towards any changes in the intake and exhaust. I installed the Dobeck controller, which made the jetting changes easier. I did not do any of it on a dyno, but rather the old fashioned way, of trial and error (mostly error :BH: ). I adjusted it for driveability, rather than performance.

Dean,
I sent you a pm.

Randy,
it works fine, but it is noisy and somewhat clunky. My girls refuse to be in the car when I use it; something like "Dad, this is so not cool" :BH:
With the roll cage, I find pushing back to be my normal method, but it is handy to have it once I'm all strapped in. Also, even so it did not come up, I'm sure it is a requirement for passing the inspection.
I had originally thought that I would keep the engine running in neutral, when I back up, however, there must be a sensor in the transmission, that shuts the engine down once the backup speed exceeds a walking pace. I'm using a small battery, so I don't want to over use the reverse; it sucks to bump start the car by yourself. :ack:

Randy,
the gear is about 7 1/2 in diameter and the Bendix is 1.165 in; 9 tooth Bendix.
I don't think the gear diameter is that critical, because the starter motor is for a 153 tooth flywheel, yet it engages well enough for the small gear. My main concern was for packaging the gear inside the tunnel.
The motor is here:
