You just wait, Kristian.
My older one is 12, and we had to drive by a certain boy's house, to make some noise. :BH:

Well, here is a little video I made of my build. I hope it will inspire those of you who are building, to just carry on. It will get done. Oh, and crank the tunes.

Great, great video.. it's one thing to take the time to post up pictures and script on such an involved build, and quite another to think to get video along the way..

You have such attention to detail.. what a great way to spend 3500 very creative hours  , and a stellar result to boot!

Any sorting/changes? Maybe it's been put up for the winter?

How's your electric reverse working? Do you have any thoughts on it now that it's been in for awhile?

Hey ccrunner,
there are a couple of things. The muffler will be replaced with a Supertrapp. I need the tunability, and to quieten it down a bit. Also, I am unhappy with the front brakes. No surprise, since I went with the GM metrics to pass the inspection. I thought it may be necessary to have the banjo fittings, however it never came up. So I'm switching over to Wilwoods, and need to address the hydraulic balance. I like a "light" pedal, and my current set-up is too hard for me. So, it is part of the winter project. Otherwise it is tucked away for the season.
I did go through everything, and I'm quite amazed, that everything seems to be working as designed. No leaks, squeaks or anything. Hmmm. Either I'm really good, or I'm not looking in the right places.
The reverse is working well. I will post a separate video and write up, hopefully soon.
However, having said all that, I have been quite busy. I already miss my early morning shop hours, and so, I have been working hard on a new project. I'm actually off at the crack of dawn tomorrow to pick up the donor. It appears to be a great deal, but I will know for sure by 8:30 am. I'll be on the road by 4:30, my usual starting time. Me thinks you'll like it. I was going to PM you for some questions in the next few days anyway.
More after tomorrow.

Cool videos - I also watched the airplane one.
Can you tell me song and artist name of the car video, please?

Thanks

Funny how quickly the new project presents itself, isn't it

Do let us know what you've got cooking when you're ready

Thanks, sixt3. It is always a pleasure when someone enjoys my videos. The song is by M83; the album is "Hurry up, I'm dreaming." I should have given proper credit, but somehow, I couldn't find the space to fit it in. My big, fat head always got in the way.
ccrunner,
I'm back from my little adventure, and here is what I brought back.
Attachment:
IMG_7821.jpg

It is a '98 VTR; decent shape with about 40,000 miles (61,000 K) and looks and sounds to be strong (no I didn't ride it; that was 35 years ago  ). But there are enough good bits for me to sell off, to probably break even, and have a free engine in the process. The VTR is close to your VFR, and I already have a couple of questions that I'll PM you. Your post about tilting it back, and the hydraulic clutch. Having said all that, where is it going to go?
Well, my next project will be a Morgan 3 Wheeler replica. Why? It is funky, it is different, it is a challenge and most of all, Calvin and Hobbs would approve.
Actually, I have been researching my follow up project for about a year (you have to plan for succession), and I was sure that a Porsche 550 replica was the way to go. But after spending some time on their forums, and dealing with some suppliers, I came to the conclusion that they were all a bunch of pecker heads. And don't even get me started on the Cobra crowd. Oichkatzlschwoifsauhund.
Anyway, it will be a long term project, since I have a perfectly good 7 to play with and sort out, but it feels good to plan another build. And I never did take the build table apart. Lazy me. :BH:

Nice, you need a separate thread for this now.

What are the specs on the VTR engine? I could look it up but I figure others are interested too.
