Email them to me at thomas at fiberspec dot com and I will post them for you.

I will be going down to see Howard in a couple of weeks.

Tom

Frustrating, isn't it? That's one of the advantages of a fiber optic land connection, a reliable 100 MB circuit that's available 24x7x365.

Cheers,

Careful there, Tom... Remember what happened when you posted your phone number that time... Some crazed lunatic from Florida called you...

Hope this doesn't go sideways on me.

Yo!
Lookin' good Howard! Is that Dudefladge or SHO/Tom with you? Either way, great picture!

I'm happy to see you up and around and tryin' to hide that beer you're holding.

Dudefladge (Rob) and Diet Coke...

I got the Locost in the garage Sunday. A little bit of surface rust in a couple spots and several broken tack welds from AZ to KY, but otherwise a very uneventful trip.

Now I just need to get or build some sturdy saw horses... and set up the welder... and learn to weld... and...

Thanks Tom for posting photos for me. I'll send you a couple more.

I like living in a nice, quiet rural place... except for the internet signal.

I'll get some photos posted eventually.

I got the build table up on saw horses... and stared at it for awhile....

I guess that's progress.

Thanks again Tom...

I fired up the MIG welder this weekend to teach myself to use it. I've watched a couple Youtube videos...

Unfortunately, the regulator for the Argon/CO2 tank is messed up and won't adjust. I'll get there.

It may be time to start a new thread in order to keep this one clean. Thoughts on that?

Sure Start a new build thread and refence Howard's name or whatever. I'd name it Saltracer or something like that with your name. I'd love to see a tribute to Howard.

Tom

PS: Make sure you read up on how to open and close high pressure tank regulators before you go much further with your MiG.

Thanks yet again Tom.

I got the regulator figured out after watching a YouTube video.

I ran a short bead before the breaker tripped. Unfortunately, now none of the receptacles in the garage work. I likely fried the breaker trying to pull too much amperage.

More to follow.

Doubt if that fried the breaker, just tripped it. Just flip it all the way off first, then back to ON. It does tell you that your wire (and therfore your circuit breaker) is undersized for that application. If you have an electric drier in the garage, use that outlet and make an adaptor cable for your welder. Size your wire to the amperage and the breaker to protect the wire.

Yes, a new thread would be appropriate, in my opinion. Just put a reference to your new one here in Howard's, so people know where to go. I'd like to follow your new thread myself.

Cheers,

Flipped all the breakers. Still no juice. They are only 20 amp breakers. I should have checked first.

I'll start a new thread.
