I almost b*tched at you about those long cantilevered shock mounts, until I saw/remembered the struts underneath that go to the lower frame rails. Cool...

A friend came by this week and he helped me with the throttle setup. I think this should work well. I am using the OBP setup and it doesn't have accommodations for a throttle stop nor a cable connection. I created a small tab on the back to work with the clevis end of the Summit Racing universal cable kit and another small tab on the front with a nut welded to the bottom for a M8 bolt to screw into. She's a roller! I put an HF digital angle finder on the shock support as i lowered it to the ground and it didn't budge, not even 0.1* |

JDK Shooting for early late spring early summer for the first start up. I'll say this man has an amazing wife. We spent pretty much the full day in the garage and she didn't seem to mind at all. While I was there we completed the rear suspension. I didn't grab any pictures of it (shame on me). The exhaust is pretty much done minus some welding which I'll be doing at my house. I must say it is one good looking exhaust. Don't make fun of the man's shoes, they are definitely Locost! A big thanks to Briggs for driving down here and doing so much! The next big order of business is to pull the motor and freshen it up. Then the plumbing and the dreaded electrical will begin. |

Whats the reasoning behind the exhaust being so far from the frame? Mine was as close as I could get it and even then there were times I accidentally brushed against it (fortunate for my shins I was wearing long pants and not shorts). |

I did the headers the way that I did to keep it as simple as possible. I was really apprehensive about making the headers. The muffler is only about 1.25" away from the frame to allow for the head shield and mounting. It will definitely be a big step to get in to the passenger side but i don't think it is drastically different than others. or is it? |

I think it is one of those "Forced Perspective" things. The headers look like they exit further forward and do not hug the chassis like a lot of cars, but the actual exhaust is still tight to the side of the chassis. With the exit point further forward, it gives the illusion that the entire exhaust is further out than it actually is. Or I could be completely wrong. Either way, it looks REALLY good! |

Agreed; the passenger will be fine. My comment was more aimed at your shins when you're removing the hood or working on something while the exhaust is still hot. |
