Seat building day . We welded the previous seat and added thicker aluminum to the bottom for strength. The passenger seat was built heavier from the start. Pics show how we went about it.
The cutting and annealing and shaping. Tomorrow I am going to start adding suspension and more shaping and sanding. Then the tack up. Sorry the pics are not in order. That would take planning. They defiantly are not perfect but they’ll work especially with upholstery on them.

They work really well, especially if you don't have a plasma cutter. You do really have to clean as you go though.

A cool tip I learned a while back watching Lazze Metal shaping youtube channel is that if you stretch a section of heavy truck inter tube over the upper wheel of your english wheel it will allow you to form a radius in one direction only instead of two directions. It is really handy for making curves like on your seat back.

Well there hanging. Only by cleco but very ridge. They will tighten up nicely with rivnuts. My chassis is not as exact as I once thought. I need Fenderwelt like nobody business. A little Bondo too. Kinda sucks. I don't know how I am going to bail my self out yet. Thinking...... There not quite level across the top of the fender. They tip up a little out at the radius.

Steve, a little bump on the aluminium (a UK word) from the inside, about 8 inches from the bottom rail, should close up that lower gap nicely. Don't worry how the body looks inside the fender. Get the largest cording you can find (or appropriate size) at JoAnn Fabrics and some marine vinyl to make the welting that you need. The vinyl comes in 60" wide rolls. You'd only need about 1/4 yd to do both fenders.

BTW, are you planning on coating the inside of those fenders with bed liner or something like that to minimize stone dents from telegraphing thru those nice fenders?

Chuck how the heck are you?! I ordered 1/4” fenderwelt earlier today. Tomorrow I will massage the sheet metal. Sink in some rivnuts and see how it starts to pull together. I had gaps up to 1/2” today. Ugly I know. Like this whole project it’s a game of problem solving. I can honestly say I can be done.
