Hi Steve
Late to the party, because I'm altogether new to LocostUSA awhst nd have spent the last couple of months happily working through many of these build-files...
So, first... what a beautiful build... and wonderful details - a real credit to you. And I've never seen vinyl look so good.
Just for others can I amention: I previously had rapid failures with Pirelli seat webbing (and my straps were much closer together), until told to wrap the webbing around the frame and fasten it through to both sides. That way the full width of the webbing strains on the edge of the frame, and the 'rivets' don't tear through it. Smooth the frame edges first obviously...
But your seats... WOW...!
Just a thought... MangPong.
I do understand where your going with this. I didn’t have a tube frame to do that with so next best thing was to screw the webbing right to the seat. We will see what the longevity is from it. Fortunately they come out in about 10min and can be repaired easily. The guy that turned me on to this did this in a T bucket he built and swore by it. So far I am a believer in webbing. Thanks for the compliment much appreciated.
One thing I realized after seeing a seat done in $15/yd vinyl was to spend some money on it. This stuff is actually more than leather. $47/yd. I could have gotten leather for about $10/yd cheaper. This does everything leather does except it won’t dry out and split in the sun. I think I bought 8 yrds of the stuff may have 1yd left.
