Good progress. I need to come by and check it out. Plus, what drive shaft shop did you use? I need about 11" taken out of my Miata drive shaft

I see where you got the idea for the headlight.

Are you sure the dash isn't going to hit your knees getting in and out?

So under the steering wheel on the dash, I used my kids' sled and cut out a pretty large opening for my knees on both sides. I'm 6'2" and they don't hit at all. Passenger side doesn't hit it at all.

They did an amazing job, turned my new driveshaft around in like 3 days, and was the absolute best price... The owner's name is Tim.

Can you ditch one on each side and mount the remaining one horizontally? it looks a bit busy IMO. I considered lights similar to what you are using but i have a long way to go before i need to make that decision.

I think if they were mounted vertically, side by side, it would be a better look than the angled bits. But that's just my preference.

IMO they would look a little utilitarian in a just vertical, or just horizontal position. These are just LED Trailer lights, and being that they are flat, the angle mount lets me fully mount them on that curved fender.

I was going for something interesting...at least to me.

Russ (Racepedals) came over and we went for a ride! That was fun, especially after we found that fuel leak!

Installed my front blinkers and cleaned up some more underdash wiring, hooked up my hazard lights to the original steering column pull switch. Installed a shift light, I also heated up, bent, and reangled my short shifter! So awesome now, the new shifter feels like a rifle bolt, the original felt like a sloppy big rig truck shifter.

Fixed that fuel leak, also found a coolant leak from my new overflow bottle, that's now fixed as well.

I ordered 2 head rests, an ignition kill switch, new license plate frame with a reverse light and plate light all-in-one combo, ordered a valve cover breather, and I ordered a new 45000v coil.

For those of you wondering where I got the textured ABS for my dash panel, here's the link. I paid $27 shipped.

Boy, you are truly fixing that car up. It does feel good to get things operational on an older car doesn't it? You go from feeling like the poor thing is headed downhill to the junk yard to thinking, "Hey, this thing could last another 20 years." Good on ya, I say!

I was looking back at your photos of the new steering wheel and this time noticed how narrow your trans tunnel is. That's a good thing too as seat width is a big issue in these cars. But, do you get any noise from it being so close to the sides of your tunnel? Mine will be very similar - quite narrow.

Cheers,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.

Nothing can get you motivated like a ride, even though it was very cold. I went home and straight to my garage and starting working on mine.
