No worries. I appreciate the feedback.

The radiator is a Civic half-size radiator that is all over eBay. There are a number of variations but I found this one with two large rows that satisfies the rule of 2 for my engine.

well.. by that chart, my 293ci radiator would be 100ci undersized for my 209ci engine. But.. not enough space for anything bigger.. hmm.

I'm late to this party. But here a couple suggestions.
I would look to see if you can swap sides on the rear brake backing plate, which would position the E-brake cable to the rear Vs front and just loop the cables over the top of the diff into the tunnel.
I would look at your valve cover filler neck and see if its threaded the full length. On my smaller Toyota motor I was able to cut half the length down plus take some off the cap to improve the hood clearance.
You might want to consider using some SU carbs or M/C carbs that mount horizontally to improve clearance.

The brake backing plates will swap, so I ordered two new cables (I already pitched the old ones that were falling apart). I figured it's an $18 gamble since I was placing an order from rockauto anyway.

I did save the rest of the parking brake hardware (handle, intermediate lever, etc) so we'll just have to see if there is enough room in the tunnel to make it work.

Slow progress is better than no progress: been really busy the past week, but I did manage to sneak out to the shop a couple times. Half-hour windows are good for sandblasting and painting smaller parts. I am definitely getting my use out of the old plywood blast cabinet I built several years ago.

Today, I took the chassis outside and blasted it, and shot a coat of self-etching primer on it.

The beauty of simplicity: no smog garbage, one belt, minimal wiring.

All new seals and gaskets. Everything was in-spec for standard size pistons/rings and bearings, so I honed the cylinders and slapped it back together. I also splurged for a comp cam, probably the only 'performance' part it will get besides the 38mm weber.

Filler cap and side deck. The plan is to have a trunk with a lid above the gas tank. 37" x 13" and 6.5" deep. Won't fit a dead body by any means but better than nothing.

Don't kid yourself, it all depends upon how you slice 'em & dice 'em.

Everything is looking very nice, especially your panels. How deep is the throat on your bead roller? That's nice use of it on your various panels. It makes them look more professional.

Cheers,

Thanks for the compliments. The beads are time consuming but they look cool and are functional on the floor. My bead roller is the 12" harbor freight model that is now discontinued. The 18" model they sell now would have been handy on the rear bulkhead.

The dash looks fabulous - like those aero screens too.

Cheers,
