Visible is best! Being noticed is a big plus, people tend to pay attention to school busses and stop lights ;). The housings look great, looking forward to seeing you put this on the road.

3-D printing is something I’d like to try, my son has a printer, I just need an excuse to borrow it.

Quick update on the 7.
I've been juggling responsibilities and projects the past couple of weeks. Do some work on the 7, then the Spit, then the house, then the yard, then growing the garage into a fabrication business.

Yesterday I finally fitted the tail lights and license plate lights. At this point the 7 has a NCDMV LEGAL lighting arrangement.
Lights, turn signals, brake lights, and emergency flashers.

Lighting as follows on the back
Bottom dim- running lights
Top dim - turn signals
all 4 bright - brakes

I still think I'll add a LED strip for a 3rd brake light up higher. Either on the top of the tail panel or the roll bar. I haven't decided which yet.

Oh, and NCDMV title and theft inspector isn't doing any in person inspections until we get released into phase 3 of reopening.
I doubt I'll have a title by the end of the year.

Lighting looks good!

If you want a thin DOT legal third brake strip, look for the "on the spoiler" 3rd brake lights. I want to say certain Hyundai/Honda had them in both clear and red tint lenses.
There's likely others floating around the supply chain too.
Easy enough to make a 3D printed housing for it to slot into and mount to the roll hoop.

Or there's the ubiquitous GM truck cargo bed third brake lights.

Yesterday was spent making wing stays for the front fenders.

Making one of anything has gotten fairly easy, a matched pair still keeps me on my toes.
I "could" have drawn thes up, made drawings, and built a jig. Instead I slowly built what was pleasing to my eye.

As I got 1 piece done, I made a duplicate. So Drivers top tube, passengers top tube; drivers bottom tube, passengers bottom tube; ...
When it came time to tack weld the bits I started with the drivers top tube and support bar for the fender. Just a couple of tig tacks to start.

At this point its hanging in space with a single bolt. A tad far from the tire, so some tweaking is in order.

Back at it and joined the bottom tube to the support bar.

All tacked up. I plan to hammer / wrap the bar to the tube and weld it all up.

I took them off the car to the weld table and assembled the passengers side to match.
Test fit looks pretty good.

Today I get to weld fully and add some stiffening.

I almost forgot. The fenders are ebay fiberglass bits I picked up CHEEEEEEP. $40 to my door for the pair.
