Well I did some reading and decided on the +442 design so I would have room to do with what I want. Here are a couple of pics of my shop/ garage I will be building in and my build table, its done now.

Its a Millermatic 212, I would love to have a Syncrowave but I don't have the $$ right now, I am half decent with it though |

Ah. I have a new syncrowave 200, and have no experience. I'm going to Lincoln to take their motorsport class in two weeks... I'll see if that does the job for the TIG welding. MIG is no problem... |

I made some progress today: 
I am currently de-burring and champhering all the tubes so I can jig them up and tack weld them tonight. |

Got the bottom frame all jigged in place and ready to tack weld:

I got everything tack welded this morning and made a jig for those lovely compound angles on the "L" pieces. I also did a practice pass obn some scrap to check my heat and penetration, let me know what you think:

It has been brought to my attention that I should turn tubes LA, LB, FU1 and FU2 to make suspension mounting easier. I tried to call kinetic but I think he was closed so I figured I'd ask you guys. BTW I will be using the kinetic suspension. |

I called him. He's out of town right now, and will be posting a sticky about the front four tubes (LA, LB, FU1 and FU2) in the near future. I don't know the degrees, and he didn't have them on hand, so I am unable to give a definate answer. Jack might be easier to reach via email sometimes. |

When you email him, put "KV" (for Kinetic Vehicles) in the subject. He uses that to whitelist his spam filter. -dave |

I THINK I have found a donor Miata for my build, I'm supposed to be picking it up on wed afternoon I will add pics when I get it back to the house

Closed? Kinetic? On a Saturday? In my dreams. At present we're at the Csve Junction shop, grinding on getting a replacement MAX on the road. Our secretary collects messages daily but not Saturday and Sunday; email is more sure fire. Still, sometimes an email sent o'er the weekend won't get a response 'till Monday--in this case Monday at 9:05 pm. Back to the question: 20 degrees, but anything in that neighborhood will do the job nicely. They are ball joints, after all, so it's not critical like it would be with a bushing. The two piece angle brackets are 20 degrees, too. |
