Assuming my meter is accurate, and that this is truly my peak noise (I was on a residential street so had to be somewhat mindful of speeds), then my highest reading of 98.5dBA @ 17 feet would be 89.1dBA at 50 feet. So I guess my original resonator/muffler combo would pass any track Nazi's scrutiny. Still, I'd have to say it is still louder than I'd like for a street car. With the data at hand, I am now more convinced that I need to control my "loud" pedal a bit more in public.
I did check into my state's (Illinois) noise requiements. They are not controlled by any actual measurement but by construction. So any LEO could issue a citation against a local nuisance or noise ordinance if he so chooses and then I'd have no actual law to fight with data.

Every motor vehicle driven or operated upon the highways of this State shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler or exhaust system in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise. No such muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass or similar device. No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and such original muffler shall comply with all the requirements of this Section.
