I have been meaning to put this in here for a while but just have not gotten around to it...so here goes. I am not planning to document the build here, just include a few highlights/milestones as I go along. I will also post whenever my build site is updated. That is the best place to read about the project.

Here is the site: http://www.underwood-racing.com/

And here is a recent photo:

I'll be glad to answer any questions that you may have as well. Thanks for letting me share!

LOL...Thanks. That garage is one of the reasons my Locost build has suffered over the past couple of years. I had the shell built and then wired and finished the interior myself (with the help of a good buddy at times). It is a great place to escape. If I would have just put in some indoor plumbing, I could live out there. :D

Everything + shipping was around $193. Not dirt cheap, but not bad considering it is a custom configuration.

Somewhat of a milestone reached tonight... The fabrication of the roll cage is complete. That was one of the last of the "hard" parts that I had left. I am planning on having the thing ready to tear down and paint by the end of spring.

Here is a current pic:

That's a fantastic looking roll cage - very much what I have in mind for my own. I look forward to seeing the rest of the build!

Asome looking built you got going. Also nice REX you got. I have a few CRX's in the past and love them.

Thanks Spaz.

I love my CRX. I have owned it longer than any vehicle I have owned and it has served me well through the years.

New update to the site today.

Hightlights are shift linkage and shifter (mock up unit) as well as some nice radius tubes at the rear fenders.

Any chance you have a drawing or dimensions of the R1 engine/tranny?

Kurt,

I wish I did... I would be happy to get some dimensions from it if there is something specific you need.

Nuts... when I built my Mini I had to buy all the parts first, just to measure them and for the next project I'd like to avoid that. It's funny how the R1 is probably the second-most popular bike engine we use yet no one's modeled it. Oh well, if this were easy everyone would be doing it!
