I always thought the 323 was a Great Little Car. It's nice to know the KLZE can handle high RPM as I tend to wind all my cars up and view the red line as a "you made it!" line as opposed to "DANGER DANGER" line.

The KLZE has a really linear power curve. Have both hands on the wheel @ 4060RPM (That's where the VRIS magic happens)

That's when the sound becomes music :D :D I'm going to be making my own mufflers inside some 3 inch pipe. We will see how well that turns out. My next job is to make the mounts for the fuel tank then remove everything and paint the frame.

Cheers John- yeah its great having a wife who is actually really into cars- hannah knows more about random old cars than me as we got a 2 year subscription to practical classics and she has her nose buried in them.

7 degrees- that's the sort of info about these engines I love to hear. :D

I'm having to work around the small photo size limit but am learning some of the tricks. Here are some pics of my fuel tank baffle experiment.

Thanks right now I'm in the process of testing glues to stick the "aluminum tubes" together but may have to use something else. I am having some trouble getting motivated to go out to the garage as it's 26deg F here is sunny California.

Well the glue tests worked out and the answer is don't put any glue in the fuel tank. So I'm going to work out something else. Here is a picture of the full baffle with the one way rubber valve to let fuel in to the pump.

I installed the pump/level sender and most of the "aluminum tubes" as I need to drain six more to finish (already drained three).

The tank will use 9 24oz. and 32 12oz. "tubes".

I decided to shift the tank to the right side as I will be alone most of the time and this will help the counter my weight.
Used some wide shelf rails for the tank to set on and modifying the RX7 tank straps to lock it down.

I seem to recall putting some sort of solvent in some sort of can at some point (vague isn't it - I want to say it was lacquer thinner in a pop can but can't remember 100%) and it dissolved whatever coating was on the inside. You may want to pre-soak your "tubes" before installing them to make sure nothing will melt away and clog the system.

If nothing else consuming the contents of the "tubes" mixed with some gasoline vapor should make for one heck of a Saturday night!

I actually did a test as part of the glue test with no softening of the aluminum coating.

Yo John!
That's some clever engineering on those "aluminum tubes"... I'm really liking that solution. Maybe I'll take all that silly foam out of my fuel cell and fill it up with "tubes" like yours!

Well done, Sir!

Well we shall see how clever the idea is when I get the car running. And I wish it was my idea but I read about it here somewhere some time. Believe it or not I get some ideas from your novel of a build log. :)

Got back from vacation where I kept thinking about the things I could be doing on the car :|
I got the roll bar welded up so now i'm going to strip the frame for paint.

Well now the dishwasher is leaking all over the floor. Another thing to slow the already glacier like progress. :BH:

Just fill the dishwasher with stop leak. Or better yet. Throw it out. Don't wash the dishes. :D
